PS: I've just looked it up and your model MacBook can upgrade to Lion 10.7.5, but I wouldn't advise you to and anyway I don't think Lion supports Apple's dictation (which came in with Mountain Lion). Let us know of your success, or otherwise - afterwards I will remove the image copy from my online storage. I'm not sure if it has to be mounted first, you might have to press the Open button as well, but I've always been a bit bamboozled by how DU does some things - it may be sufficient just to choose the image itself. I would probably choose a lower speed than maximum to burn it, for reliability's sake, but having said that it will probably burn perfectly well anyway. First put in a blank DVD (the Burn option is not available until you have a blank DVD in place) then press the Burn button in DU's toolbar, or choose Burn (⌘B) from DU's menu. If it does require a physical DVD, you can burn it easily using Disk Utility. Let me know if it doesn't work for you and I will give you the link to the DD application version 2.0.3. I also have a copy of the application itself from the other disk which is actually at version 2.0.3 (but can be upgraded FOC after it has been installed to v2.5.1) so I'm wondering if the dataset might require that. Then if you run the DragonDictate program it should find the mounted image without you having to burn it to a DVD. After unzipping you will have Dragon English Data.cdr - If you double click it, it should mount in Finder but no files will be visible since it doesn't appear to have a partition map but there is about 1.5 GB of data on the disk. Hi again, here's the link, I have zipped it to make it slightly smaller and possibly easier to transmit. Are you able to burn a disk image yourself? Whichever is most convenient for you, send me a PM and I'll post you a copy of the DVD And/or a link to the image. MT, I can make a copy of the DVD for you and send it to you, alternatively I could also make a disk image and sent that by giving you a link to download it. I'm not going to correct my spelling in this just to give you an idea of what sort of mistakes it might make, however all it takes to write this is a double-click on the function key! However I'm on Mavericks and I believe your 70s dictation recognition is probably better again although I don't usually 74 reasons that I won't go into here. It learns your speech patterns and improve itself as you go I think it is superior in recognition to Apple's dictation. It does work, and if you can upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mavericks or possibly Yosemite you wouldn't need DragonDictate, although DragonDictate I believe is more accurate after you have used it for a while. And it is not perfect but then, I'm only speaking what I think into my computer As it comes to my mind and then the issue remains, can I keep my brain up to speed with what I actually want to say! Ha ha.Īs Rama Prem said, I am doing this using Mavericks' built-in dictation software and I'm only using The built-in microphone in my MacBook Pro without any special effort other than trying to speak relatively clearly. ![]() As you can tell I am using dictation software to write this now.
